Each label
is approx. 6" long with
textured backgrounds created from
freehand machine embroidery and
tiny scraps of fabric. The
foregrounds are 3D flowers
created on sheer fabrics or water
soluble medium.
Inspiration for this
small piece has been taken from
an 18th century English court
dress. Several layers of freehand
machine embroidered net combine
to make this delicately intricate
fabric. Tiny flowers of cotton
velvet are overlaid with yet more
machine embroidery in metallic
thread.
