| For those
who really like to take
on a project and finish
with a substantial piece. |
| A
workshop using a layering
and slashing technique to
combine texture, colour
and design. Different
textiles take dye
differently, cut and fray
differently and absorb
light differently. Learn
how to combining these
uncertain factors to
break down the rigidity
of formal design whilst
creating a large piece of
textile art. |
| Dying
fabrics and a wonderful
range of exciting colours
in preparation for the
Dye, Slash and Show. An
opportunity to also dye
fabric and thread for
future projects. You will
be dying a large quantity
of natural fabrics
(cotton, linen, viscose
etc) These need not be
new (old sheets perhaps).

the technique. Layering,
simple machine stitch and
slashing to create a
variety of samples using
some of the previously
dyed fabrics. |
| Designing
. Using your own design
source to create full
working design, using a
group critique to clarify
what your particular work
will entail, whilst
picking up tips and ideas
from the other members of
the group. |
| Working
on your own original
piece of textile art.
Layering fabrics in
glorious colours. Simple
machine stitching, then
slashing and cutting away
to reveal your design. |
