This 3 dimensional
piece measures approximately
30" x 30" and is
constructed from cotton velvet,
calico and woollen blanket. Large
seeding stitches are used to
create a textured surface. The
leaves are 3D appliqué in
woollen fabric consisting of 5
layered pieces. The rope edge has
been slashed and raised using a
trapunto quilting method.
This elaborate 3

reverse appliqué.
